APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Oct. 1

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Oct. 1 announcing changes to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page and table numbers below.

Chapter 3-16 Organs

Page 3-16-4 - eighth bullet (Insulin) after Organs and Their Derivatives for Research or Pharmaceutical Use heading has been updated
Table 3-16-4 Fresh, Frozen Organs, Glands, and Their Derivatives from Countries FREE from BSE - table title has been corrected
Table 3-16-5 Fresh, Frozen Organs, Glands, and Their Derivatives of Avian Species - table title has been corrected
Table 3-16-6 Fresh, Frozen Organs, Glands, and Their Derivatives of Ruminants - table title has been corrected; second column (And the country or region of export is:), last two rows have been corrected; footnote #1 has been deleted
Table 3-16-7 Fresh, Frozen Organs, Glands, and Their Derivatives of Swine - former third column (And the importation is:) has been deleted
Page 3-16-9 - heading and paragraph at top of the page have been corrected
Table 3-16-8 Determine Action to Take on Fresh, Frozen Organs, Glands, and Their Derivatives from Countries with Diseases of Concern - table title has been corrected; language in first column (If:) has been added

Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks have all been updated as needed.
