APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 27
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Sept. 25 announcing changes to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual: The following change has been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific change is listed after the table number below.
- Table 3-136 Potpourri and potpourri ingredients - language in footnote #1, bullet point has been edited for clarity
Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references have all been updated as needed.
Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page and table numbers below.
Chapter 3-15 Miscellaneous Products
- Table 3-15-6 Straw, Hay, and Grass - new top row has been added; new footnote #1 has been added
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Page A-1-29 - title for Medications, Dietary Supplements, and Nutriceuticals in Passenger Baggage has been changed; a second paragraph has been added after the title
Glossary
- Page Glossary-1-15 - language has been added at the end of the "dietary supplements" entry
- Page Glossary-1-45 - "vitamins" entry has been added to the glossary
Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks have all been updated as needed.
Seeds Not for Planting Manual: The Seeds Not for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, transmittal 09/2012-51, to change the address of an authorized facility; to remove the appendix; and to change a subpart title. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are as follows:
- Page 1-6: Changed the subpart title 7CFR 319.37 to Plants for Planting
- Page 3-42: Changed the zip code for M/s A.S.A. Agrotech
- Appendix A: Removed the appendix
The lists of figures and tables, and the table of contents have been updated.
