APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 20

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Sept. 20 announcing changes to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the table number below.

  • Table 3-132 Pollen - former second column (And is:) and footnote #1 have been deleted
  • Table 3-136 Potpourri and potpourri ingredients - language in footnote #1 has been changed

Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index, as well as internal and external cross-references have all been updated as needed.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) has been revised to update the List of Eastern Region PPQ Identifiers and Co-Lateral National Specialists. The change is on the following page:

  • Appendix G: Lists of PPQ Area Identifiers and PPQ National Specialists: Page G-1-3.
