APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 5

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Sept. 5 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) has been revised to update the lists of Eastern and Western Region PPQ Identifiers and Co-Lateral National Specialists. Changes are on the following pages:

  • Appendix G: Lists of PPQ Area Identifiers and PPQ National Specialists: Pages G-1-2 and G-1-9.

Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual: The online Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual (here) has been revised to add Viterra Inc. to the list of facilities approved to export pelletized screenings to the U.S. The addition is on the following page:

  • Appendix D: Approved Establishments: Page D-4.
