APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 4
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Sept. 4 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been revised. The reasons for the revisions were:
- Update the import requirements for various herbs from Israel. The herbs are arugula, basil, borage, chervil, chives, cilantro, dill, marjoram, mint, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, sorrel, summer savory, tarragon, thyme, and watercress. (manual pages 3-165 through 3-167)
- Remove a papaya orchard, Adelaido Gordillo Enriquez, from the papaya export program in Chiapas, Mexico
