APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 31

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Aug. 31 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Approved Dracaena Facilities: The list of Approved Dracaena Facilities (here) has been updated, transmittal 08/2012-04, to add five new facilities' names and addresses to the list.

Plants for Planting Manual: The Plants for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, transmittal 08/2012-09, to add information to the Dracaena Program. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 2-13: Added Dracaena cane cutting requirements for admissibility into all U.S. States and territories from all countries
  • Page 2-17: Changed Table 2-8 heading first cell to exporting
