APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 24
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Aug. 24 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been revised. The reason for the revision was to update the import requirements for tomatoes from certain countries. Tomatoes from these countries have U.S. market access; however, these countries do not have phytosanitary programs that meet current U.S. entry requirements. Therefore, the tomatoes are not authorized entry into the U.S. and import permits will not be issued at this time. The countries are as follows:

- Cayman Islands (page 3-66)
- Cyprus (page 3-95)
- France (page 3-120 and 121)
- Greece (page 3-132)
- Italy (page 3-169)

- Portugal, Penninsular and Azores (page 3-269)
- United Kingdom (page 3-336)
