Canadian Government Notices for Aug. 17

The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices for Aug. 17. (Note that some may also be given separate headlines.)

  • Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM). The CBSA’s Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) initiative is part of an important mandate to manage the importation of goods into Canada, which includes compiling trade data and assessing and collecting duties and taxes. (here)
  • Winnipeg Pro-Trade Plan Consultations. Rod Bruinooge, a Member of Parliament, attended a consultation session in Winnipeg with industry and business leaders from across Manitoba to help the government refresh its Global Commerce Strategy (GCS) in order to better align Canada’s trade and investment objectives in large, dynamic and fast-growing priority markets.(here)
  • NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. DFAIT updated the 2012 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports. (here)
  • Carbon steel welded pipe. The CBSA listed the exhibits and information for certain carbon steel welded pipe originating in or exported from Taiwan, the India, Oman, Korea, Thailand, Turkey and the UAE and the alleged injurious subsidizing of certain carbon steel welded pipe originating in or exported from the India, Oman and the UAE.   • China steel piling pipe. The CITT issued preliminary determinations on the dumping and subsidizing of carbon and alloy steel pipe piles, commonly identified as piling pipe. (here)
  • China unitized wall modules. . The CBSA listed the exhibits and information for certain unitized wall modules originating in or exported from China. (here)
  • Korea liquid dielectric transformers. The CBSA listed the exhibits and information for certain liquid dielectric transformers originating in or exported from Korea. (here)
