APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 17

Approved Phalaenopsis in Growing Media Facilities: The list of Approved Phalaenopsis in Growing Media Facilities (here) has been updated, transmittal 08/2012-14, to add four new greenhouses, to delete one greenhouse, and to change the names of two growers. Revisions are indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page and include the following:

• Grower #50-PS-040: Changed name from Yang Meg Wen to Yang Hsuan Yuan
• Grower #50-PS-041: Changed name from Lee, Chun-Hung to Song Chu Orchids
• Greenhouse #70-PS-004-01: Deleted due to voluntary withdrawal from the program effective June 13, 2012

Postentry Quarantine Manual: The following changes have been made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the chapter title.

Chapter 7: List of Circulars

• Page 7-2 Circular 6: Diseases of Anacardium spp. has been added to the list of circulars
• Page 7-2 Xanthomonas campestris pv. mangiferaeindicae has been added to the list of circulars under NEW Circular 6: Diseases of Anacardium spp. with accompanying reference to circular
• Page 7-2 through end of chapter all circulars following #6 have been renumbered to reflect the new circular
• Page 7-5 Xanthomonas campestris pv. mangiferaeindicae has been added to the list of circulars under Circular 32: (former Circular 31) Diseases of Mangifera spp. with accompanying reference to circular
• Page 7-6 Hemicycliophora dhanachandi has been added to the list of circulars under Circular 38: (former Circular 37) Diseases of Pinus spp. with accompanying reference to circular

Chapter 8: Alphabetical List of Diseases

• Page 10-17 through end of chapter all circulars following #6 have been renumbered to reflect the new circular
