APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 10
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Aug. 10 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and The Fruit and Vegetable Manual: The Fruit and Vegetable Manual (here) was changed on the following pages (see black change bars in the margins):
In Chapter 2 -- Procedures:
- Edits were made throughout the Inspection Procedures for Light Brown Apple Moth Host Material section, page 2-55 to 2-59
- The Apples, Pears, and Sand Pears from New Zealand instructions were moved from page 2-22 to page 2-60
In Chapter 3 - Reference, edits were made to Table 3-17: Australia:
- The entries for Apple and Pear, in the ALL ports column, are amended to limit imports to commercial consignments, only
- Footnotes #2, #3, and #4 are changed
- The word “Endive” was removed from footnote #5
