APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 8

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Aug. 8 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Cut Flowers and Greenery Import Manual: The online Cut Flowers and Greenery Import Manual (here) was revised to update instructions on regulating fresh, cut articles of banana and wheat. Changes are indicated as follows:

  • List of Tables: Pages LOT-3 and LOT-4.
  • Chapter 3: Reference: Table 3-40 on page 3-38 and Table 3-58 on page 3-56. NOTE: If you maintain a paper copy of the manual, replace all pages in Chapter 3 after (and including) page 3-38, due to changes in pagination.
