APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 16

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails July 16 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Postentry Quarantine Manual: The following changes have been made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the chapter title.

Chapter 7: List of Circulars

  • Page 7-4 Phytophthora litchi has been added to the list of circulars under Circular 29: Diseases of Litchi spp. with accompanying reference to circular
  • Page 7-5 Fusarium tupiense (Sordariomycetes: Hypocreales) has been added to the list of circulars under Circular 31: Diseases of Mangifera spp. with accompanying reference to circular

Chapter 8: Alphabetical List of Diseases

  • Page 8-2 and Page 8-3 Fusarium tupiense (Sordariomycetes: Hypocreales) and Phytophthora litchi have been added to the alphabetical list of diseases

Chapter 10: Disease and Pathogenic Organism Circulars

  • Page 10-81 Phytophthora litchi has been added to Circular 29: Diseases of Litchi spp.
  • Page 10-91 and 10-94 Fusarium tupiense (Sordariomycetes: Hypocreales) has been added to Circular 31: Diseases of Mangifera spp.

Appendix A: Directory of PPQ Postentry Quarantine Liaison Officers

  • Arizona and Tennessee contact information has been updated
