APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 9

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails July 9 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Import Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Import Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page numbers below.

Appendix A: Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail

  • Page A-1-1 change "Pet Food/Chews/Treats and Livestock Feed in Passenger Baggage and Mail" has been added to the chapter table of contents
  • Page A-1-17 change "Macau" has been added to the list of countries under the HPAI heading
  • Page A-1-24 change "HPAI" column, "Macau" row, an "X" has been added

Appendix C: List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status

  • Page C-1-2 change "Macau" has been added to the list of countries under the HPAI heading
  • Page C-1-7 change "Affected with" column, "Macau" row, "HPAI" has been added

Links contained throughout the manual in the Tables of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, Index, as well as internal and external cross-references have all been updated.
