APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 9

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails May 9, 2012 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the table number below:

Table 2-4-20 Additional Criteria for Deciding Whether to Allow Animal Products or By-Products to Transit for Export:

  • new fourth column has been added
  • content in third column, second and third cells has been corrected
  • bullet point in fourth column, third cell has been deleted
  • actions in last column, second, third, and fourth cells has been corrected
  • footnote #1 has been added
