ITC Seeking Comment on Nokia Complaint Involving Mobile Phones, Tablets
The International Trade Commission said it received a complaint entitled Certain Electronic Devices, Including Mobile Phones and Tablet Computers, and Components Thereof, DN 2896, and it's soliciting comments on any public interest issues raised by the complaint or complainant's filing.

The complaint was filed by Nokia Corp. and Intellisync Corp. on May 2. It alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. 1337) in the importation into the U.S. and sale of certain electronic devices, including mobile phones and tablet computers, and components thereof. The complaint names as respondents HTC Corp. of Taiwan, HTC America, Inc. of Bellevue, WA, and Exedea Inc. of Houston, TX.
Comments are not to exceed five pages, including attachments. In particular, the Commission is interested in comments that: explain how the articles are used; any public health, safety, or welfare concerns; like or directly competitive articles which could replace the subject articles if they were to be excluded; whether complainant, complainant's licensees, and/or third party suppliers have the capacity to replace the volume of articles potentially subject to the requested exclusion order; and how the remedial orders would impact U.S. consumers.
