ITA to Lead Energy Efficiency Trade Mission to Russia June 4-7
The International Trade Administration said Under Secretary Francisco Sánchez will lead an energy efficiency trade mission to Russia June 4-7, 2012. The U.S. delegation will include a senior U.S. Department of Energy official and representatives from 13 U.S. firms that offer a broad range of technologies to improve energy efficiency (see press release for list of firms).

Recent economic growth in Russia has driven high levels of new demand for electricity, the ITA said, and both the public and private sectors in Russia are responding to this new reality with major investments in electricity infrastructure and energy efficient systems and technologies. According to the ITA, during the last decade, Russia’s import market for electricity transmission and distribution equipment has realized a 25 percent compound annual growth rate.
