USTR Seeking Comments on India's WTO Complaint About Hot-Rolled Steel
The office of the U.S. Trade Representative is seeking comments on India's April 24 request for consultations with the U.S. under the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization on countervailing measures for hot-rolled carbon steel flat products from India, it said in a Federal Register notice scheduled for publication May 4.

India's challenge to the countervailing measures addresses the Tariff Act of 1930, in particular sections 771(7)(G) and 776(b), as well as Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations, sections 351.308 and 351.511(a)(2)(i)-(iv). In addition, India challenges certain actions of the U.S. with respect to U.S. Department of Commerce countervailing duty determinations and the countervailing duty order related to hot-rolled carbon steel flat products from India.
