Open ACE ESAR A2.2 Programming Issues (1 Closed, 2 Opened)
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted an updated version of its spreadsheet of ACE ESAR A2.2 (Initial Entry Types) programming issues.

(ESAR A2.2 allows for the filing and processing of formal (type 01) and informal (type 11) entry summaries for those who volunteer to submit such entry summaries in ACE. It also allows importers with ACE accounts (and brokers if granted cross account access) to respond to certain CBP forms via the ACE portal.)
1 Programming Issue Moved to Closed List
One programming issue was moved from the “Open” list to the “Closed” list with this update:

Two Programming Issues Added to the Open List
With this update, CBP has newly listed the following programming issues as "Open."

| 03/01/12 | ACE ABI "Batch Rejected" Outbound Messages Constructed Incorrectly. The errors include an application identifier in the outbound A-record, not returning a system generated B-record, and not returning a system generated Y-record. As the business rules and CATAIR indicate, system generated B- and Y-records include only the B or Y record identifier in positions 1 and 80 of the records. In addition, an application identifier should not be returned in the A-record. |
| 03/14/12 | HTS Numbers Not Active in ACE - Causing ACE Entry Summary Rejects. Several ACE entry summaries have been rejected by ACE for HTS Number Not Active. However, the HTS numbers are valid and active in ACS. It appears that the HTS numbers impacted have one tariff record in ACS with an end date of 3/14/12 and another tariff record with a begin date of 3/15/12 -- which is a valid scenario and should not cause ACE entry summary transactions to be rejected. |
