Canadian Government Notices for Mar 17-19

- Weaker exports reduced Canada’s Trade. Statistics Canada announced that merchandise exports declined 2.3 percent in January and imports also edged down 0.6 percent. Canada’s trade surplus narrowed from 2.9 billion in December 2011 to 2.1 billion in January 2012, marking the third consecutive monthly trade surplus. (here)
- Canada-Argentina Trade mission. The International Trade Minister, Ed Fast, will travel to Buenos Aires to promote the numerous advantages of a deeper trade and investment relationship with Canada and the corresponding mutual benefits to both countries. (here)
- Hot rolled carbon steel plate expiry of order. The CITT gave notice that the dumping of hot rolled carbon steel plate originating in or exported from China will expire on January 8, 2013; the second order respecting South Africa and Russia will be rescinded. (here)
- Listeria implementation policy. The CFIA has announced additional informative sessions for the fish processing and importing industry regarding their policy on Listeria monocytogenes in ready to eat foods. (here)
