  • AD: China magnesia. The European Commission has issued an opinion concerning a notice of the expiry of certain antidumping measures against dead-burned (sintered) magnesia from China. (here)
  • Antitrust investigations in shipping sector. European Commission officials undertook unannounced inspections at the premises of companies active in the container liner shipping in several Member States. The Commission states it has reason to believe these companies have violated antitrust rules and that unannounced inspections are a preliminary step into suspected anti-competitive practices. (here)
  • EU-Japan mutual recognition of AEOs. The European Commission has announced that the implementation of mutual recognition of Authorized Economic Operators between the EU and Japan will begin on May 24, 2011. This means that the AEO status of EU importers and exporters will be taken into account during the security risk assessment procedures by Japanese Customs in Japan. (here)
  • EU-China economic relationship. The President of the EU Council delivered remarks at a bilateral meeting in China, stating that his ultimate goal is for the EU and China to work more closely together to capture untapped economic potential. He noted that the EU is China's largest export market and China is the EU's second largest trading partner. (here)
