ITC Requests Comments on Patent Complaint on Turbomachinery Blades Against Rolls-Royce

Complaint Alleges Patent Violations by Rolls-Royce Companies
ITC received a complaint filed on behalf of United Technologies Corporation, which alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain turbomachinery blades, engines, and components thereof.
The complaint names the following as the respondents:
- Rolls-Royce Group plc, London, United Kingdom
- Rolls-Royce plc, London, United Kingdom
Comments on Public Interest Issues Requested
ITC requests comments on any public interest issues raised by the complaint by November 22, 2010.
Comments should address whether issuance of an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order would negatively affect the public health and welfare in the U.S., competitive conditions in the U.S. economy, the production of like or directly competitive articles in the U.S., or U.S. consumers.
(The ITC notes that there will be further opportunities for comment on the public interest after the issuance of any final initial determination in this investigation.)
