According to Senator Baucus, trade between the U.S. and China continues to increase, and the U.S. needs to ensure that it can meet the challenges of both security and trade enforcement that are presented as the result of that growth. Senator Baucus stated that he is working with Senator Grassley (R) to give U.S. customs agencies the resources they need to successfully carry out their missions and improve the competitiveness of U.S. companies in the global marketplace through the Customs Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Reauthorization Act (S. 1631).
