Handouts from BIS' 2010 Export Update Conference Available
During the Bureau of Industry and Security’s Annual Export Controls Update Conference on August 31-September 2, 2010, various officials from BIS, the Census Bureau, the State Department, and other agencies gave presentations on numerous topics.

NEI. National Export Initiative priorities, Export Promotion Council, President’s Export Council, successes to date.

Parties to the transaction. U.S. government proscribed lists (i.e., Debarred List, Specially Designated Nationals List, Denied Parties List, the Entity List, and the Unverified List).
End-use check briefings. An overview of end-use checks, DDTC’s “Blue Lantern” end-use monitoring, and DTSA’s end-use monitoring program.
Export control officer briefings. Export control officer briefings on China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Russia, and United Arab Emirates.
Cloud computing. BIS’ January 2009 advisory opinion on cloud computing.
Nuclear export controls. Agency jurisdiction, list-based controls, Enhanced Proliferation Control Initiative (EPCI), licensing process and deadlines, Nuclear Regulatory Commission export/import licensing requirements and procedures, Subgroup on Nuclear Export Coordination (SNEC).
