CPSC Corrects Warning and Test Provisions of Infant Walker Rule
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a final rule making corrections to certain warning and test provisions of its June 2010 final rule establishing a mandatory safety standard for infant walkers.

The corrections take effect December 21, 2010.
Certain Warning Statement Only Needed if Walker Has Parking Brake
CPSC is correcting 16 CFR 1216.2(b)(21)(i) to clarify that the warning statement referred to in that section is only required if the infant walker is equipped with a parking brake.
Test Description Corrected
CPSC is also correcting a mistake in the testing procedures of 16 CFR 1216.2(b)(11)(i) so that the last sentence correctly reads: “Position the swivel wheels in such a way that the walker moves sideward in a straight line parallel to Plane B” (instead of Plane A).
