House Passes Tax Extender Bill, Includes Cotton, Wool Fund Provisions, Etc.

On May 28, 2010, the House of Representatives amended and passed the Senate amendment to H.R. 4213, the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act (aka the Tax Extender bill or Jobs bill). The measure would reauthorize cotton trust fund payments and cotton yarn/fabric duty suspensions and restore the wool trust fund. House Passes FY 2011 National Defense Authorization Act

On May 28, 2010, the House passed H.R. 5136, the fiscal year 2011 National Defense Authorization Act to, among other things, authorize appropriations for fiscal year 2011 for military activities of the Department of Defense.

House and Senate Adjourn for Memorial Day Week

The House and Senate have adjourned for the week of May 31, 2010 for a district work period. The Senate is scheduled to return to session on June 7, 2010 and the House is scheduled to return on June 8, 2010.
