House Hearing Examines Small Business Exports

On April 28, 2010, the House Small Business Committee held a hearing on Evaluating the Impact of Small Business Trade Policy on Job Creation and Economic Growth. Industry witnesses at the hearing testified on the importance of small business exports, focusing on the need to eliminate tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade, intellectual property protection, trade facilitation (streamlining the customs process, increasing the availability of export financing, etc.), reforming export controls, pending trade agreements, and USDA export programs.

Any “Capitol Hill Trade Action” warranting more in-depth coverage will be summarized individually in a future issue of International Trade Today.
