Bill to Extend, Expand Haiti Trade Preference Programs Introduced
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Levin (D) and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Baucus (D), along with Ways and Means Ranking Member Camp (R), Finance Ranking Member Grassley (R), and Representative Rangel (D) introduced The Haiti Economic Lift Program (HELP) on April 28, 2010. The measure would expand duty-free access for additional Haitian textile and apparel exports and extend CBTPA and HOPE through 2020.
Senate Passes Airport and Airway Trust Fund Extension Bill
On April 28, 2010, the Senate passed H.R. 5147, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend the funding and expenditure authority of the Airport and Airway Trust Fund, to amend 49 USC to extend authorizations for the airport improvement program, clearing the measure for the President.
