Introduction of Climate Bill Delayed
Senators Kerry (D) and Lieberman (I) have issued press releases announcing that they are delaying introduction of their climate change legislation. They had planned to introduce the legislation on April 26, 2010, but the one Republican supporter, Senator Graham, removed his support as he believes immigration politics have gotten in the way. Senators Kerry and Lieberman hope to continue to work with Senator Graham after the concerns over immigration are worked through.
New Date for House Trade Subcommittee Hearing on U.S.-Cuba Policy
The House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee has announced that it’s hearing on U.S.-Cuba policy will be held on April 29, 2010 (not April 28, 2010 as previously announced). Testimony at the hearing will be from invited witnesses only.
Assistant Secretary of Commerce Nominee Withdrawn
The White House has announced the withdrawal of the nomination of Timothy McGee to be an Assistant Secretary of Commerce.
