2. State Dept's Shipping Coordinating Committee to Meet on Jan 7th
The State Department has announced that the Shipping Coordinating Committee will conduct an open meeting on January 7, 2010. The primary purpose of the meeting is to prepare for the 52nd Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Subcommittee on Stability and Load Lines and on Fishing Vessels Safety (SLF) to be held at the IMO Headquarters, United Kingdom, from January 25 to January 29, 2010. 4. BIS Reached Settlement Agreement with Hailin Lin for Export Violations
The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued its settlement agreement with Hailin Lin, which resolves allegations that she committed 124 violations of U.S. Export Administration Regulations by failing to obtain the proper export licenses, and/or providing false descriptions and/or withholding required information on the invoices provided to the shippers, for certain electronic shipments to China. Lin was assessed a $1.364 million fine (which would be waived if no further violations occur in a one year period) and prohibited from engaging in certain export actions for a 15-year period. 5. USDA Names Members To Fruit And Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee

7. ITA Issues Preliminary AD Determination on Wire Decking from China
The ITA has issued a fact sheet announcing its preliminary affirmative AD duty determination on wire decking from China, with preliminary AD duty rates ranging from 42.61% to 289.00%. 8. ITA Announces First Opportunity to Request AD Reviews on Sawblades from China, Korea in Nov. 2010
The International Trade Administration has issued a notice of the anniversary date and first opportunity to request antidumping duty administrative reviews on diamond sawblades and parts thereof from China and Korea. The ITA states that although the effective date of the AD duty orders is January 23, 2009, based on the date of the suspension of liquidation, the ITA designates November as the anniversary month for these orders. Therefore, the first opportunity to request a review of these orders will be in November 2010. 9. China to Cut Import Duties on Coal, Raise Duties on Fuel Oil, Etc.
According to the Chinese association China Mining, China will lower import duties on more than 600 products in 2010, including coal, naphtha and phosphate ore. At the same time, it will "end its existing lower import tariffs" on refined oil products and wind power equipment and raise its import tariff on fuel oil. 11. Postentry Quarantine PPQ Manual for State Inspectors Updated
On December 29, 2009, APHIS updated its Postentry Quarantine PPQ Manual for State Inspectors. This manual covers procedures for conducting PPQ tasks beginning with the request to approve a growing site and ending with the release or refusal of the plant material.
