CV Suspension of Liquidation, Cash Deposit Not Resumed Unless Order Issued

CBP field offices are to discontinue the suspension of liquidation for CV duty purposes on all shipments of the subject merchandise with a time of entry on or after August 4, 2009 (which is 120 days after the date of publication of the preliminary determination). ITA sources have stated that the CV cash deposit/bond requirement is similarly discontinued.

This suspension of liquidation will not be resumed unless and until the ITA publishes a CV duty order in this case.

(ITA sources have previously stated that entries of subject merchandise during the period from the date the suspension is discontinued to the day before the effective date of the order (if one is issued) are not subject to any CV duties.)

In addition, CBP states that field offices are to continue to suspend liquidation for CV duty purposes on all shipments of commodity matchbooks from India that have a time of entry during the period April 6, 2009 through August 3, 2009, until the conclusion of the CV duty investigation.

AD Suspension of Liquidation, AD Cash Deposit/Bond Requirements Unaffected

The discontinuation of the CV suspension of liquidation and cash deposit/bond requirements in this investigation do not affect the requirements of a cash deposit or bond on entries subject to the suspension of liquidation announced in the ITA's preliminary determination in the companion antidumping duty investigation of commodity matchbooks from India.

(See CBP's message for more information, including the scope of the investigation. See ITT's Online Archives or 04/06/09 news, 09040655, for BP summary of the ITA's preliminary affirmative CV duty determination.)
