CPSC Announces Ten Provisionally Accepted Settlement Agreements and Orders, Civil Penalties
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued notices announcing provisionally accepted settlement agreements and orders containing civil penalties for ten companies.

Any interested person may ask CPSC not to accept these agreements or otherwise comment on their contents by filing a written request with the Office of the Secretary by August 18, 2009.
9 Companies Penalized for Lead Paint Violations, 1 for Failure to Report Defects
Nine of the settlement agreements and orders cite violations for lead paint in children's products. The other, concerning Haier America fans, cites a violation for failure to report the fans' defects and risks.
Specifically, CPSC has entered into provisionally accepted settlement agreements and issued orders against the following companies and products for the listed civil penalty amount:
