AD: India Commodity Matchbooks

The International Trade Administration has made a preliminary affirmative antidumping duty determination that commodity matchbooks (matchbooks) from India are being, or are likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

Suspension of Liquidation. The ITA will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to suspend liquidation of all entries of matchbooks from India with a time of entry on or after June 2, 2009.

AD cash deposit or bond. The ITA will also instruct CBP to require a cash deposit or the posting of a bond at the AD rate listed below, for entries of subject merchandise from India with a time of entry on or after June 2, 2009:

As this company is also subject to a preliminary countervailing duty determination, its AD rate above reflects an adjustment for these subsidies. The all-others rates listed above also reflects an adjustment for Triveni's export subsidies.

Final Determinations Postponed, Provisional Measures Extended

The ITA is postponing for 60 days the final determination and extending provisional measures from a four-month period to not more than six months. Accordingly, the ITA will make its final determinations not later than 135 days after June 2, 2009. Suspension of liquidation will be extended accordingly.
