AD: Japan and Korea Glycine

The International Trade Administration has made preliminary affirmative antidumping duty determinations that glycine from Japan and Korea is being, or is likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

Suspension of liquidation, cash deposits. The ITA is directing U.S. Customs and Border Protection to suspend liquidation of all entries of glycine from Japan and Korea with a time of entry on or after September 13, 2007.

The ITA is also instructing CBP to require an AD cash deposit or the posting of a bond equal to the margins listed below for the following producers/exporters:

Final AD determinations. The ITA will make its final AD duty determinations for glycine from Japan and Korea no later than 75 days after September 6, 2007.

HTS classification. Glycine's chemical composition is C2H5NO2 and is normally classified under HTS 2922.49.4020; however, sodium glycinate, also in the scope of this investigation, is classified under HTS 2922.49.8000.

These HTS subheadings are for convenience and customs purposes; the written description (scope of investigation) in the ITA's notice is dispositive.
