CBP to Hold April 2007 Anti-Terrorism Training Seminar for C-TPAT Members Only
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted to its Web site a notice announcing that it will be holding a Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) anti-terrorism training seminar on April 3-6, 2007 in New Orleans, LA. CBP states that participation in this seminar is limited to certified C-TPAT members only.

According to CBP, this seminar is entitled "Supply Chain Security in a Post 9/11 Environment." The agenda will focus on the need to improve supply chain security in the post 9/11 environment by strengthening the Customs/Trade cooperative partnership. Joint Customs/Trade presentations, panel discussions, and concurrent workshops will be conducted. CBP states that many new topics will be discussed, including: The Safe Port Act, Advance Trade Data Elements, Third Party Validation Pilot Program, Secure Freight Initiative, Cargo Theft, Open Source Intel and Risk Assessment, e-Truck Manifest and Business Resumption.
On-Line Seminar Registration for C-TPAT Members Begins January 15, 2007
CBP states that registration for this seminar will be conducted via an on-line registration process beginning on January 15, 2007. According to CBP, there will be no registration fee for this seminar; however, the seminar will be limited to 600 participants proportional with current C-TPAT membership levels. CBP states that attendees will be selected on a first come first serve basis and on certified C-TPAT membership status. CBP also notes that attendance is limited to a maximum of 2 people per C-TPAT certified company. Members registering for this seminar must use their company name and C-TPAT account number when submitting their application. Deviations from the approved company name and/or account number found in the C-TPAT database will not be accepted.
