AD: Japan Metal Calendar Slides

The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice postponing the final antidumping (AD) duty determination of metal calendar slides from Japan until no later than June 16, 2006 (from April 2006), at the request of Nishiyama Kinzoku Co. Ltd. (Nishiyama), the only known exporter of subject merchandise from Japan.

Export Compliance Daily combines U.S. export control news, foreign border import regulation and policy developments into a single daily information service that reliably informs its trade professional readers about important current issues affecting their operations.

The ITA states that in accordance with 19 CFR 351.210(b)(2)(ii), because the preliminary AD determination was affirmative, the requesting exporter accounts for a significant proportion of exports of the subject merchandise in this investigation, and no compelling reasons for denial exist, the ITA is granting Nishiyama's request to postpone the final AD duty determination.

In addition, the ITA states that it is extending the provisional measures period from four months to a period not longer than six months (for preliminary AD bond/cash deposit requirements); suspension of liquidation will also be extended accordingly.

(See ITT's Online Archives or 02/02/06 news, 06020220, for BP summary of the preliminary affirmative AD duty determination for subject merchandise from Japan.)
