AD: Korea Diamond Sawblades and Parts Thereof

The International Trade Administration (ITA) has made a preliminary affirmative antidumping (AD) duty determination that diamond sawblades and parts thereof (sawblades), are being, or are likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value. The period of investigation for subject merchandise from Korea is April 1, 2004 through March 31, 2005.

As a result, the ITA will direct U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to suspend liquidation for entries of sawblades from Korea with a time of entry on or after December 29, 2005.

The ITA will also instruct CBP to require a cash deposit or the posting of a bond at the AD rate (equal to the weighted average AD margin) listed below, for entries of sawblades from Korea with a time of entry on or after December 29, 2005, as follows:

Postponement of Final AD Duty Determination

The ITA states that it is postponing its final AD duty determination for subject merchandise from Korea until no later than 135 days after December 29, 2005 and is also extending suspension of liquidation accordingly.

Preliminary Negative Critical Circumstances Finding

In addition, the ITA has preliminary determined that critical circumstances do not exist for imports of subject merchandise from Korea for Ehwa, Hyosung, Shinhan, or the other companies covered by the "all others" rate. The ITA states that it will make a final determination concerning critical circumstances for all producers and exporters of subject merchandise from Korea when it makes its final dumping determination in this AD duty investigation.
