Final Results of AD Duty Changed Circumstances Review

The ITA state that in these final results, it determines that Produits Forestiers Arbec Inc. (Arbec) is the successor-in-interest to Unifort Inc. (Unifort) and, as a result, should be accorded the same treatment previously accorded to Unifort in regard to the AD duty order on certain softwood lumber products from Canada as of October 13, 2005.

The ITA states that because both Arbec and Unifort are currently subject to the "all others" rate, there is no need to send instructions to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at this time. However, the ITA states that Unifort is currently participating in the second administrative review and will receive the "review-specific rate" once this review is completed. Thus, once the final results for the second administrative review are issued, the ITA will instruct CBP to suspend liquidation of all shipments of the subject merchandise produced and exported by Arbec at the rate determined for Unifort.

(See ITA notice for more information, including the scope of the order, etc. See ITT's Online Archives or 10/04/05 news, 05100425, for BP summary of the ITA's initiation and preliminary results of this review.)
