Preliminary Antidumping Duty Determinations Postponed

Diamond sawblades and parts thereof. The ITA states that it is postponing the preliminary AD duty determinations on diamond sawblades and parts thereof from China and Korea to December 20, 2005. The deadline for the final AD duty determinations will continue to be 75 days after the date of the preliminary determinations, unless extended.

The ITA explains that the petitioners made a timely request for postponement of the preliminary AD duty determination in order to allow the ITA additional time in which to review the responses and issue requests for clarification and additional information.

According to the ITA, it is postponing the preliminary AD duty determination on subject merchandise as there are no compelling reasons to deny the request. (See ITT's Online Archives or 06/30/05 news, 05063035, for BP summary of the initiation of this AD duty investigation.)

Certain artist canvas. The ITA states that it is postponing the preliminary AD duty determination on certain artist canvas from China to October 28, 2005 (from October 7, 2005). The ITA states that the petitioner previously requested that the deadline be postponed until October 7, 2005 (from September 8, 2005). According to the ITA, the deadline for the final AD duty determination will continue to be 75 days after the date of the preliminary determination.

The ITA states that the petitioner made a timely request for the postponement of the preliminary AD duty determination because it believes extraordinarily complex issues exist with respect to this case and additional time is necessary to allow it to review the responses to the supplemental questionnaires and submit comments to the ITA and also to allow the ITA time to analyze thoroughly the respondents' data and to seek additional information if necessary.

According to the ITA, this request for postponement is being granted as there are no compelling reasons to deny the request. (See ITT's Online Archives or 05/02/05 news, 05050235, for BP summary of the initiation of this AD duty investigation.)

(See ITT's Online Archives or 08/22/05 news, 05082240, for BP summary of the first postponement of the preliminary AD duty determination on certain artist canvas from China.)
