FDA Concern over Possible Contamination
FDA states that it must assure the safety of FDA-regulated products being offered for import into the U.S. from this region; and, with the massive infrastructure disruption, as well as damaged facilities and warehouses, FDA is concerned that FDA-regulated products may become contaminated.
Import Community Should be Aware of Possible Repackaging
FDA asks the import community to be proactive and diligent by checking the quality of products, looking for obvious physical and water damage, and by being conscious of the possibility that FDA-regulated products may have been repackaged.
The FDA states that additional information will be provided when available, and that concerns or issues should be directed to the local FDA District, or the FDA Division of Import Operations and Policy at (301) 443-6533.
