CBP to Add New Field for Requests for Reroutes of a Periodic Statement Payment Authorizations
CBP states that it will add a new field to position 37 of the QR record with the values of "Y" or "N."
If requesting a reroute of a periodic statement payment authorization, the letter "Y" should be inserted in position 37 of the QR record. If not requesting a reroute of periodic statement payment authorization (application PN), the letter "N" should be inserted in position 37 of the QR record.
According to CBP, position 37 should not be left blank. Positions 38-80 become filler (space fill).
CBP notes that there are no other changes to the QR record, and that the current functions to request a reroute of a statement or Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) transaction remain the same.
(In Adm: 01-0423, CBP announced that ABI filers could use the Automated Commercial System (ACS) to request a reroute of preliminary and/or final daily statements and/or ACH payment transactions if the filer lost them, they did not print, or for some reason the filer did not receive them when they were automatically generated. See ITT's Online Archives or 04/10/01 news, 01040941, for BP summary on Adm: 01-0423.)
