AD: China Wooden Bedroom Furniture

A list of the 82 Section A respondents (companies who were not selected as mandatory respondents but submitted responses to Section A of the ITA's AD questionnaire and had sales of subject merchandise to the U.S. during the period of investigation) is available below.

ITA Requests Comments on the Scope of the Investigation Comments

According to the ITA, various interested parties have made scope of investigation comments concerning ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture, patient room furniture, furniture not sold in suites, parts of furniture, home office pieces, daybeds, and the standard of "made substantially of wood."

As a result of the extraordinary detail and length of these comments, the ITA states that it will address all scope comments in the final AD duty determination, and is requesting comments on scope issues from interested parties no later than July 30, 2004.

Two Companies Seek Market-Oriented Industry Status

The ITA states that Markor Tianjin and Lacquer Craft informed the ITA that they intend to seek market-oriented industry (MOI) status on behalf of the wooden bedroom furniture industry in China. The ITA further states that it will continue to evaluate this request and address it as soon as possible.

ITA Postpones Final AD Duty Determination

The ITA states that because it has made an affirmative preliminary AD duty determination, and the requesting parties, Lacquer Craft, Markor Tianjin, and Dorbest Group, account for a significant proportion of the exports of subject merchandise, it has postponed the final AD duty determination until no later than 135 days after June 24, 2004.

In addition the ITA states that it is extending provisional measures (suspension of liquidation and AD cash deposit/bond requirements) accordingly.
