According to CBP, the designation of June 11, 2004 as a "holiday" means that ABI filers will receive preliminary statements on June 14, 2004 for entries transmitted with statement print dates (formerly known as "payment due dates") of June 11, 2004 and June 14, 2004.
(CBP states that entries that were successfully transmitted using June 11, 2004 as the statement print date prior to the update of the Customs calendar will appear on preliminary statements generated for Monday, June 14, 2004.)
According to CBP, filers will receive two preliminary statements on June 14, 2004. One will contain entries with June 11, 2004 as the statement print date and the second will list entries transmitted to ABI with June 14, 2004 as the statement print date.
CBP states that filers who desire to receive only one preliminary statement on June 14, 2004 should use the 'Daily Statement Add/Delete' feature of ABI to change the statement print date to June 14, 2004 for entries that were previously transmitted with June 11, 2004.
(On June 6, 2004, President Bush issued Executive Order (EO) 13343 which closes all executive departments, independent establishments, and other governmental agencies on June 11, 2004, as a mark of respect for Ronald Reagan. EO 13343 also allows certain agencies to determine whether they should remain open for reasons of national security or defense or other essential public business.
